Nestled in a beautifully converted distillery, this hostel serves as an ideal launchpad for exploring Islay’s breathtaking landscapes. The close proximity to the sea allows for refreshing morning dips and tranquil evening strolls along the beach, with the rhythmic sound of waves providing a soothing backdrop. The facilities exceeded my expectations—everything was impeccably clean, the communal areas were spacious and inviting, and the large kitchen made preparing meals a pleasure. If you’re seeking to immerse yourself in Islay’s stunning natural beauty while enjoying the warmth of a welcoming community, I highly recommend Port Charlotte Youth Hostel—it truly is a gem.
